Job Summary
Analyze existing production processes, identify work elements, and optimize assembly line flow, workstations, and material handling. Develop tooling, fixtures, and simple equipment for new and existing products while designing innovative solutions to complex manufacturing problems. Improve efficiency by planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, applying Lean methodologies and continuous improvement techniques. Facilitate visual management, prepare cost justifications for capital equipment, and implement safety, quality, and productivity solutions. Design testing methods, establish standards, and develop work instructions to validate manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field of engineering
- Experience with Pro-E / Creo, AutoCad, and / or MasterCam
- A basic working knowledge of controls
- Ability to write work instructions & related documentation
- DFM
- A positive attitude & hands-on mentality
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to operate machinery and/or lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- PPE is required
Desired Qualifications
- Working towards BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field of engineering is preferred
- Experience with Pro-E / Creo, AutoCad, and / or MasterCam is preferred
- Writing specification for complex equipment & working w/ vendors
- Ability to write work instructions & related documentation
- DFM preferred
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
