Job Summary
The Continuous Improvement Engineer-Paper will lead initiatives in new product development and process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiencies and lowering costs within the manufacturing of paper products. Key responsibilities include promoting safety culture, supporting quality standards, providing technical support for equipment efficiency, organizing production processes, performing data analysis to prevent equipment downtime, driving continuous improvement through lean manufacturing methods, and managing multiple projects. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, along with preferred qualifications in the paper industry and familiarity with SAP.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 5 years’ experience in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical thought process by identifying underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and adjust priorities as necessary
- Detail oriented and thorough when completing work tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing technical analysis, feasibility studies and recommendations for controls systems requirements
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Fundamental knowledge of cost accounting principles
- SAP knowledge preferred
