Job Summary
Implement industrial engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality while evaluating manufacturing processes based on criteria such as speed and accuracy. Organize LEAN Kaizen events, integrate packaging standards across all locations, and optimize facility layouts, production lines, and machine operations. Lead automation and ergonomic improvement projects to reduce costs and maximize output, while training staff in new and existing processes. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to solve problems and upgrade systems with new technology. Requires ability to travel, work late shifts, and operate office equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have good knowledge of labor standard development and efficiency improvement methodology
- Previous experience as an industrial engineer or similar role
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)
- Project management skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Teamwork skills
- Degree in Engineering, AAS or BS
- Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and orally, including the telephone
- Mobility within the work facility
- Ability to operate computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment
- Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to occasionally work late shift
- This position does require the ability to travel
