Job Summary
Continuous Improvement Engineer at Clasen Quality Chocolate (CQC) leads data-driven improvement initiatives within the Watertown, WI manufacturing facility, applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance safety, quality, capacity, and cost performance. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality to identify/eliminate waste, reduce process variability, and build sustainable systems. Responsibilities include developing standard work, strengthening process capability, coaching operations/maintenance teams on CI tools, managing a pipeline of improvement opportunities, performing time studies and data analyses (OEE, yield, throughput), providing daily technical support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, R&D, Engineering) to sustain improvements and ensure adherence to safety and quality policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline), or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or CI experience with demonstrated results.
- Experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods is preferred.
- Experience or certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with Plant operating systems is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Microsoft Project preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and equipment/layout drawings to support system design, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
