Job Summary

Contingent Summer Research Analyst Intern will contribute to building standardized, analysis-ready EHR SAFs and conduct descriptive analyses of CKD patient data. The role supports feasibility assessments and data availability assessments across CKD subgroups, with responsibilities including construction and QC of longitudinal EHR analytic files, generating counts/proportions/distributional summaries, producing clean analytic code, and contributing to draft tables/figures. Collaboration occurs with biostatisticians, epidemiologists, data scientists, and clinical nephrologists; participation in biweekly internal and client meetings and written deliverables is expected. Location is fully remote with a July–August 2026 contract window; compensation is a paid internship at $27/hour.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MPH, MS, PhD, or equivalent) in biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, health informatics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS for data manipulation and descriptive analysis
  • Comfort working with big data – large, messy, real-world datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, reproducible, well-commented code
  • Ability to work independently with remote supervision
  • Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot)
