Job Summary
Clean and restore hard and soft contents damaged by fire, smoke, water, or mold using specialized equipment like ultrasonic systems and ozone chambers. Safely handle furniture, electronics, artwork, and household goods while correctly wrapping and packaging items to prevent transport damage. Inventory, photograph, barcode, and document belongings using company software before organizing them for climate-controlled storage. Assist with pack-outs and pack-backs at residential and commercial properties, then inspect cleaned items against quality standards. Load and unload company vehicles, maintain a safe warehouse environment, and report damaged items to supervisors. Follow all safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and manufacturer procedures while communicating professionally with homeowners and contractors.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to operate a company vehicle in accordance with Blue Kangaroo PACKOUTZ's vehicle policy.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, climb stairs, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work safely in tight or confined spaces when necessary.
- Ability to load and unload furniture, boxes, and household contents from homes and company vehicles.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including warehouses, residential job sites, and properties affected by fire, water, smoke, or mold damage.
- Ability to safely wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Desired Qualifications
- Restoration, contents cleaning, or general cleaning experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn and correctly identify cleaning products and consumables, including their proper use, handling, and disposal requirements.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency, professionalism, positive attitude, and exceptional work ethic.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
