Job Summary

Foster social and emotional competencies and mental well-being in a safe, inclusive environment by learning PAL curricula and providing professional development to frontline staff on classroom management and activity facilitation. Observe and evaluate program implementation to offer feedback and coaching, while ensuring strong partnerships with NYCPS partners for seamless student support regarding IEPs and mental health referrals. Coordinate with site leadership and headquarters to grow creative programming, collect data for driven recommendations, and provide mediation and troubleshooting. Ensure program alignment with strategic objectives, policies, SACC regulations, and funding contractual obligations.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Child Development, Education, Youth Development or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated successful experience in curriculum development and/or implementation, observation, training, and coaching, classroom teaching, and supervision
  • Must be cleared by DOHMH and PETS to work in School Aged Child Care programs
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, evaluation, and project-based learning
  • Able to travel to any PAL location in the 5 Boroughs (for Professional Development days)
  • Available for training opportunities outside of program hours
  • This position is for 9 hours a week (3 days a week, 3 hours each day) between the hours of 3:00-6:00
  • Employment with PAL is contingent upon successful completion of all the Agency's lawful pre-employment checks, which may include a background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese
  • Familiarity with SACC regulations and DYCD funding requirements
