Job Summary
Foster social and emotional competencies and mental well-being in a safe, inclusive environment by learning PAL curricula and delivering turnkey training to part-time staff on lesson plans that meet funder requirements. Provide professional development to frontline staff in classroom management, behavior management, and activity facilitation during orientations, weekly meetings, and midseason trainings. Observe and evaluate program implementation to offer feedback and coaching, while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, SACC regulations, and contractual obligations. Coordinate with principals and regional directors to grow creative programming, collect and analyze program data for recommendations, and provide mediation and troubleshooting. Support Group Leaders in implementing support plans for students with IEPs and writing logs. This role supports PAL's youth development strategy across the five boroughs, requiring a bachelor's degree in youth development or education and two years of experience in curriculum implementation and coaching.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Child Development, Education, Youth Development or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated successful experience in curriculum development and/or implementation, observation, training, and coaching, classroom teaching, and supervision
- Microsoft office skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel to any PAL location in the 5 Boroughs (for Professional Development days)
- Available for training opportunities outside of program hours
- This position is for 9 hours a week (3 days a week, 3 hours each day) between the hours of 3:00-6:00
- Employment with PAL is contingent upon successful completion of all the Agency's lawful pre-employment checks, which may include a background check
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Familiarity with SACC regulations and DYCD funding requirements
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese
