Job Summary
Review migrated WordPress pages for formatting and content errors, then build and publish new web pages using WordPress while ensuring metadata and tags support SEO. Draft copy for blog posts, hiking pages, and email series; curate visuals and edit materials for the Landscapes magazine and other major communications. Maintain editorial calendars, content inventories, and webpage tracking documents while organizing digital assets in Bynder and video files in Box. Support the launch of POST's new website, assist with the 50th Anniversary initiatives, and help gather performance metrics to inform content strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Must live in the Bay Area
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Valid California driver's license
- Insurable driving record
- Ability to hike uneven terrain
- Ability to tolerate exposure to varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. of equipment and supplies
- Regular and accurate communication with others
- Ability to complete tasks using a phone, email, web, and video technology
- Ability to interact effectively with digital and printed materials
- Ability to operate required job-related equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly for editing, proofreading, quality assurance, and fact-checking
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with—or the ability to quickly learn—digital tools such as WordPress, digital asset management systems (i.e., Bynder), Box, Google Analytics, and other marketing platforms
- Basic photo editing skills (Photoshop or similar)
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Interest in web content management, SEO, and digital publishing best practices
- Interest in learning about content marketing and nonprofit communications
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a cross-functional team
- An interest in the outdoors, conservation, environmental science, or connecting people with nature
