Job Summary
Draft and storyboard digital content translating messaging and policy priorities into compelling narratives for diverse online audiences. Adapt drafts for unique needs across every new media platform, including non-traditional spaces. Identify and execute creative opportunities for real-time, viral content tied to news cycles and cultural moments. Collaborate with videographers and editors to ensure content compatibility with desired production outputs. Requires 1+ year of experience in political communications, exceptional writing skills, and fluency in platforms like Reddit and Substack. Willingness to work nights and weekends is essential. Reports to the Deputy Director for Creative Content in Austin, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in political communications, digital media, or a related field
- Exceptional writing skills and strong editorial judgement
- Fluent in new media platforms, social media, Reddit, Substack, and others
- Deep familiarity with the evolving digital media landscape, including video trends and platform-specific best practices
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to balance speed with quality in a rapidly adapting political environment
- Willingness to work nights and some weekends
