Job Summary

Shoot product, event, and behind-the-scenes photography for consumer and defence brands, including cold-weather field work and retouching. Edit short-form vertical video for social platforms, assist on brand films, and deliver finished cuts with motion graphics. Design carousels, static posts, and campaign creative while writing captions that adapt to distinct audience voices. Build and maintain web pages, landing pages, and email assets using AI-assisted development tools. Edit podcast audio and video, create audiograms, and repurpose long-form content into social clips. Manage a ready-to-deploy asset library to ensure the team never waits on creative.

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in design, visual communication, photography, film or a related field, or equivalent portfolio-backed experience
  • 1–3 years creating brand content in-house, at a studio or as a strong independent creator, with a portfolio showing photography, video and design work you personally made
  • Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit, not only ideate
  • Solid graphic design fundamentals across digital, with print exposure an asset
  • Competent short-form copywriting and the judgement to adapt voice between consumer and defence audiences
  • Comfortable shooting independently and taking direction on set
  • An AI-first mindset: genuine enthusiasm for using AI tools across design, editing and build, paired with the craft to know when manual work produces the better result
  • Organized, deadline-driven and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Eligible for Canadian security clearance and registration under the Controlled Goods Program
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 10 percent

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in the Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian defence community or a military family
  • Educational background in military studies, strategic studies, defence and security studies or military history
  • genuine interest in military and defence
  • After Effects, InDesign and motion graphics experience
  • Apparel, outerwear, outdoor or performance product brand experience
  • Podcast or audio production experience
  • Shopify experience, including theme edits and Liquid
  • JavaScript or front-end development experience beyond AI-assisted editing
  • Experience with Klaviyo, email marketing platforms or digital asset management systems
  • Drone operation with a valid RPAS certificate
  • Working French, or experience with bilingual collateral
