Job Summary
Operate chemical processing equipment handling Sulfuric Acid, Sulfur Dioxide, Oleum and related chemicals to ensure safe, efficient plant operation. Respond quickly to emergencies, perform process adjustments to keep within established limits, and coordinate with laboratory for product manufacturing. Requires 40-hour HAZWOPR certification and respirator fit test. Must troubleshoot processes, isolate equipment via lockout/tagout as needed, monitor process values, record tank levels, maintain pH in ponds, and assist with shutdowns/turnarounds. Strong safety awareness, basic computer skills, and ability to follow written instructions are essential; ability to lift 50 pounds and work in extreme temperatures is required. Prefer experience in chemical operating plants and familiarity with ISO, Six Sigma, RCFA, RCMS, RCMS, RCFA, and related safety and quality systems.
Required Qualifications
- 40 Hour HAZWOPR certification

- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency in basic written communication
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Capacity to lift 50 pounds
- Willingness to work under extreme hot/cold conditions or near moving equipment
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and process analysis
- Experience in coordinating with laboratory on manufacturing
- Ability to identify and submit maintenance work requests in eMaint
- Ability to troubleshoot processes and adjust operations within limits
- Strong safety mindset and incident response
- Experience in a chemical operating plant preferred
- Experience with PSM and RCMS systems preferred
