Job Summary
Examine vendor invoices daily for accuracy; calculate payments per negotiated rates, SMA, CPT, or billings; prepare and mail checks; post and record financial transactions; review service authorization requests for compliance; verify fund sources and ensure encumbrances are managed; generate reports and reconcile discrepancies; drive to other offices to pick up/deliver materials; utilize IBM AS400; maintain security and adhere to agency procedures; assist with payments and authorizations, respond to inquiries, and contribute to team efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 24 months clerical accounting experience including 18 months A/P and 1 year heavy key entry/EDP file maintenance
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting may be considered in lieu of work experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting terminology practices and procedures
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Knowledge of electronic data processing as it relates to accounting
- Ability to reconcile differences within the record keeping system
- Ability to maintain ledgers and prepare statistical summaries and reports
- Ability to use ten key/calculator proficiently
- Ability to read and interpret governmental regulations
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
- Demonstrate ability to type accurately 35 wpm
- Valid California driver’s license and liability insurance; safe driving record
- Automobile required for travel to other offices/locations
