Job Summary
Underwrite and process consumer loan applications across personal, auto, home improvement, and indirect lending channels while adhering to credit union policies and federal regulations. Evaluate applicant financial status, credit history, and collateral by analyzing bureau reports and calculating debt aggregates to determine loan feasibility. Collaborate with branch personnel and dealers to ensure complete documentation, approve loans within authorized limits, and manage adverse action notices for declined applications. Maintain pipeline management through multi-tasking and support department operations by analyzing lending reports, conducting system training, and cross-training in additional lending areas. Meet accuracy, volume, and profitability objectives while serving as a resource for member inquiries on lending practices and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Two-year college degree
- Two years of related underwriting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of fair lending practices
- Knowledge of lending industry guidelines
- Good communication skills
- Working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements
- Experience using P.C. based software including Microsoft Office
