Consumer Loan Officer

Job Summary
Solicit, build, and maintain relationships with commercial bank clients while prospecting for new customers and cross-selling banking services. Personally interview, assess, and determine credit worthiness of loan applicants, then follow up to secure necessary information for underwriting and site visits. Execute loan collection activities, present loan presentations to approval authorities, and initiate interest rate structures in accordance with bank policy. Process loan requests by ordering appraisals and filing liens, ensuring all collateral interests are legally perfected and appropriately valued. Develop revenue growth through generation of loans and other products while meeting production goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years work experience in bank lending
- Proven history of meeting departmental budget goals and personal budget goals
- Knowledge and understanding of banking rules, regulations, laws and all policies and procedures pertaining to them including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act
- A solid understanding of structuring and underwriting commercial credits
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic word processing and computer database skills
- Ability to learn and navigate computer systems and websites necessary to complete job description and other duties as assigned
- Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to study and apply new information
- Ability to learn products, services and procedures quickly and accurately
- Ability to establish credibility and rapport, be friendly and personable and look for ways to benefit the customer
- Excellent customer contact skills
- Must be organized and maintain a positive demeanor in all situations
