Job Summary
Consumer Loan Officer responsible for developing new loan business, interviewing applicants for commercial and consumer loans, negotiating terms, underwriting loan requests within lending authority, closing loans, maintaining loan files and portfolios, ensuring regulatory compliance, collecting past-due accounts with Loss Mitigation support, coordinating with credit analysts, providing guidance to less experienced lenders, cross-selling bank products, and serving on loan-related committees; requires strong knowledge of loan guidelines, SBA and rural development programs, customer service skills, and community involvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-year college degree (accounting, business, finance, management or related) and 2 years relevant experience - or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Sales experience
- Extensive knowledge of loan guidelines, products and services
- Knowledge of and/or experience with SBA guaranteed and rural development B & I loan programs
