Job Summary
Consult with member applicants on retail lending and line of credit needs, including secured loans, auto loans, and HELOCs. Actively follow up on loan applications originating through phone, internet, and in-branch channels. Build trust with applicants and internal stakeholders while presenting ancillary products and services. Review applications for completeness, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and facilitate loan closing. Provide guidance to junior lenders on complex loan requests and unsecured loans exceeding $5,000. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, underwriting philosophies, and lending policies.
Required Qualifications
- College Degree or an additional 3 years of consumer lending work experience in lieu of degree
- 2 years specific consumer lending experience including cross selling of additional financial products and services
- An MLO#/License or the ability to acquire such within 6 months of becoming a SR Consumer Loan Representative
- A high level of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Prior experience and working knowledge of digital credit application software
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc.
- Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed
- Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 5 to 20 pounds
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Acceptable results of a background and credit check
- Satisfactory proof of your right to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years specific consumer lending experience in a Credit Union
- Prior experience and working knowledge of Symitar, Meridian Link
- 2 years specific underwriting and processing experience in a bank or credit union
