Job Summary
Attorney - Vice President, Assistant General Counsel for JPMorgan Chase's Consumer Banking Legal Team. Provide strategic and practical legal advice across consumer banking products and regulatory areas (including UDAAP, privacy, elder laws, anti-discrimination, and government interactions), collaborate with line-of-business lawyers and corporate functions, and guide cross-functional initiatives to support community and business development, fraud prevention, and customer protections. Lead end-to-end issues, advise on changes to business processes, monitor regulatory changes, and partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Controls to ensure responsible business practices while supporting the bank's deposit products and nationwide branch network. JD and active bar admission required; 5+ years of relevant experience in government/regulatory agencies or large consumer banking organizations; strong relationship-building, decision-making, and project-management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- JD admitted to practice in and member of the bar in good standing in the state in which the candidate will practice
- 5+ years of legal experience in a relevant government or regulatory agency, and/or a large consumer banking organization, law firm, or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of banking products and services and the relevant core banking regulations and regulatory framework for a large banking organization
- Team player who prioritizes collegiality, executes with urgency and precision, and acts collaboratively with legal and non-legal colleagues and stakeholders across lines of business
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple matters and projects simultaneously
- Ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor by seeing past the discrete question presented in order to advise on greater impacts or risks, and think creatively to meet objectives
