Job Summary
Contact property owners and public agencies regarding pruning and removals, conduct tree and brush inventories, and perform hazard tree inspections and evaluations. Plan work for tree contractors while gathering and managing field data on species, size, and distance from conductors. Validate data across database systems to ensure accurate reporting and verify that summaries reflect underlying datasets. Safeguard employees and the public from hazards by enforcing on-the-job safety practices and utilizing materials and equipment at the work site. Maintain company vehicles and assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion. This role requires a degree in forestry or related field, ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months, and proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in forestry or related field
- Experience in utility line clearance
- Species identification skills
- Invasive species knowledge
- Knowledge of tree growth rates
- ISA Arborist Certification (obtainable within 12 months upon job offer)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather
- Proficient in map navigation skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
- Ability to interact with staff and other stakeholders as required or directed
- Ability to work both independently and as team
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Exhibit proficiency in program specifications, regulations, and standards
