Job Summary
Conduct vegetation inspections and assessments along utility rights-of-way while identifying tree and brush management needs. Recommend treatment plans, support Integrated Vegetation Management and environmental projects, and use GIS mapping to collect field data. Evaluate terrain and habitat conditions, collaborate with planners and crews to implement solutions, and help utilities maintain compliance and safety. Requires valid driver's license, ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle, and travel up to 25%. Earn $20-$25 per hour with company vehicle, cell phone, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and stock purchase plan.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for working outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Ability to read and interpret GIS maps and spatial data
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using mobile technology
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle and travel within the service area
- Knowledge of or ability to learn local tree species identification and growth patterns
- Pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana), background check, and Social Security verification
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or related field
- Utility vegetation management or right-of-way experience
- ISA Certified Arborist certification
- Registered Professional Forester (RPF) certification
- Pesticide or herbicide applicator license (if required by state)
- Leadership experience
- Desire for career advancement
