Job Summary

Provide resident nutrition and hydration care while documenting compliance with regulatory standards and LTC legislation. Assess nutrition status upon admission, annually, and after significant status changes to determine risk levels and prescribe interventions. Develop and modify nutrition plans of care for residents, including reviewing and approving seasonal menus for therapeutic and texture-modified diets. Deliver dietary counseling and education to residents, caregivers, and staff, while monitoring high-risk residents and delegated assessments. Coordinate continuous quality improvement of food services and dining in collaboration with the Food Service Manager. Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and committees as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

  • Current registration in the College of Dietitians' of Ontario
  • Possess Liability Insurance as per CDO requirement
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Care coordination skills
  • Time management skills
  • Resident focus skills
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient computer skills using Point Click Care
  • Willingness to support the LTC home during this pandemic response
  • At least 2 COVID vaccine doses
  • General Member of College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
  • Liability insurance

Desired Qualifications

  • Clinical experience in LTC setting
  • At least 1 year experience in Long Term Care working independently as a clinical dietitian
