Job Summary
Manage daily operations of the CGBGIS Service Center, including workload prioritization, scheduling, resource allocation, and project delivery. Supervise and assign work to GIS programmers, production specialists, and technical staff while overseeing GIS production quality, database updates, user access management, and training activities. Coordinate staffing support, billing, payroll, travel requirements, and operational reporting. Analyze GIS system requirements, recommend technical solutions, and design GIS production tools, user interfaces, and automated workflows using ESRI technologies, Python, and JavaScript APIs. Support enterprise geodatabase management, data integration, and modernization initiatives involving field data collection and 3D analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of GIS production experience utilizing ESRI software
- Minimum 3 years of experience with GIS programming and automation use: Python, Arcade, ModelBuilder
- Experience supporting GIS/CAD environments and network administration
- Experience with: Requirements analysis, GIS tool and user interface design, GIS programming and modeling, Cost estimating and workload forecasting, Enterprise GIS application development
- Experience developing solutions using: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ESRI JavaScript APIs, Enterprise geodatabases
Desired Qualifications
- Recent ESRI technical coursework or certifications in areas such as: GIS database management, ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise geodatabase management, Cartographic production, 3D analysis and visualization, Enterprise GIS administration, Field workflow modernization
- Experience leading GIS teams or managing GIS service centers
- Experience supporting Federal, Department of Interior, or Bureau of Reclamation GIS programs
