Job Summary
Consulting Chief Engineer for the Advanced Tactical Programs (ATP) Operating Unit in Baltimore, MD. Responsible for engineering program execution across the ATP portfolio, leading technical decision-making, coordinating with program directors and engineering leadership, serving as the technical spokesperson to the customer, and ensuring program health metrics, RCCAs, and cost/schedule performance. Requires active U.S. Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SAP; relocation may be available; travel up to 10%. On-site leadership role involving cross-functional collaboration with business management, supply chain, mission assurance, and operations to deliver military/aerospace engineering programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field with 16+ years of experience, or Master's with 14+ years, or PhD with 12+ years (additional 4 years can be in lieu of degree)
- Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Demonstrated success leading high-performance cross-functional technical teams
- Experience in systems, hardware, and/or software engineering for architecture, design, integration, verification/validation, production, and/or post-production support in a military/aerospace product environment
- Demonstrated ability to act as technical point of contact to Executive leadership and/or Customer stakeholders
- Experience in driving schedule, cost, and risk management to ensure programs stay on track and within budget
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Relocation availability as stated in posting
- Relocation outside primary location may be applicable in some cases
- Strong communication and leadership skills to represent Engineering at BU and OU levels
- Experience with proposal development and review for new program acquisitions
- Experience with technical problem solving, decomposition, root cause analysis, and implementation across multiple program phases
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration with Business Management, Global Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, and Operations
- Preference for Advanced degrees in STEM fields
- Active U.S Government Top Secret Clearance (Preferred)
- Experience with Airborne Radar technology (Preferred)
- EVMS/CAM/Control Account Management experience (Preferred)
- Experience chairing Engineering Review Boards and ensuring decision traceability (Preferred)
