Job Summary
Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist needed to provide hospital-based CL psychiatry services at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center with telemedicine capabilities. Role includes academic appointment and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, collaboration across Addiction Medicine, Women's Health, Geriatrics, and other services, opportunities in integrated care and quality improvement, and participation in a growing Psychiatry Residency program. Duties cover inpatient consults across medical/surgical units, outpatient clinic support, OBOT program, and system-wide telemedicine with 24/7 call center support and dedicated mental health care coordination. Fellowships in CL Psychiatry or equivalent training (or 2+ years of CL psychiatry experience) are preferred; J1 visa support is offered; relocation assistance provided; competitive compensation and loan repayment options. Live in the Roanoke/New River Valley region with access to outdoor recreation and academic collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry or combined IM-Psych/FP-Psych training or significant (2+ years) CL psychiatry experience
