Job Summary

Consultant with 4-5 years’ experience in public affairs/communications to join Hanover Communications’ Brussels practice. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day delivery across client accounts, developing strategic messaging for integrated public affairs campaigns, producing briefings, stakeholder analyses and mapping, creating thought leadership content, speeches and communications materials, managing digital communications and social media, planning and delivering webinars and events, monitoring media and stakeholders, contributing to new business through opportunity identification, proposal development and pitching, and mentoring junior team members. Required skills include translating complex policy issues into compelling narratives, stakeholder engagement, events, digital communications, CRM and content creation tools, client relationship management, project management, and strong written/verbal communication. A background in EU policymaking and familiarity with sectors like health, digital tech, retail, and clean growth are advantages. Flexible working policies and extensive benefits are offered.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–5 years' experience in a public affairs consultancy, EU institution, trade association, NGO, corporate public affairs team, or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of EU policymaking and Brussels media ecosystem
  • Experience in developing and managing integrated public affairs and communications campaigns
  • Ability to translate complex policy issues into compelling narratives and creative communications strategies
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, events, digital communications, and social media
  • Proficiency with CRM, monitoring, webinar, and content creation platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and provide clear, actionable advice
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality account work
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Collaborative mindset and proactive approach to business development
  • Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office, AI tools, social media/marketing tools)
