Job Summary
Perform complex pediatric cardiac surgeries including congenital heart defect repairs, redo cardiac procedures, and high-risk neonatal cardiac operations. Lead and participate in pediatric heart transplantation programs, managing donor evaluation, recipient selection, surgical transplantation, and post-operative care. Provide preoperative and postoperative surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents while managing critically ill patients in collaboration with ICU, cardiology, and anesthesia teams. Supervise junior surgeons, fellows, and trainees while contributing to clinical research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and hospital protocols. Join a multidisciplinary team to deliver advanced pediatric cardiac care in a tertiary center.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi
- Board Certification / Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery with subspecialty training in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery
- Additional advanced training or experience in pediatric heart transplantation is mandatory
- Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in Cardiac Surgery
- Minimum 7–10 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric cardiac surgery, including transplant programs
- Strong expertise in neonatal and complex congenital heart surgery
- Excellent surgical, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ECMO and advanced mechanical circulatory support
- Exposure to high-volume pediatric cardiac transplant centers
- Academic and research background in pediatric cardiac surgery
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary tertiary care environment
