Job Summary
Manage critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in the PCICU, providing pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care following congenital heart surgery. Lead multidisciplinary rounds to coordinate individualized treatment plans while interpreting complex diagnostic data including echocardiography and hemodynamic studies. Handle ECMO, mechanical ventilation, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiac emergencies, collaborating closely with pediatric cardiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and specialized nursing teams. Mentor junior physicians and participate in teaching, research, and CME activities while supporting quality improvement initiatives. Communicate effectively with families to provide compassionate, family-centered care. Requires Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology, plus fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care, with a minimum of 8–10 years of post-specialization experience. Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage. Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licensure is required.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology
- Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care
- Minimum 8–10 years of post-specialization experience in a high-volume pediatric cardiac center
- Expertise in congenital heart disease, ECMO, and post-operative pediatric cardiac ICU care
- Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licensure
