Job Summary
Deliver high-quality specialist care to paediatric and neonatal patients across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and outreach settings. Participate in on-call rosters for acute and emergency support while leading junior doctors and mentoring their professional development. Uphold culturally safe, equitable care for Aboriginal children and families through collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams. Support service improvement, governance, and clinical innovation to improve health outcomes for underserved populations. This role offers a balance of clinical leadership, teaching, and community-focused practice within a supportive regional team.
Required Qualifications
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Paediatrics, or equivalent
- AHPRA Specialist Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Strong expertise in acute and chronic paediatric medicine
- Experience and interest in neonatal care, developmental paediatrics, and community health
- A supportive leadership style with a passion for teaching, supervising and mentoring junior doctors
- Resilience, adaptability, and confidence in managing complex or remote-care scenarios
- A commitment to improving health outcomes for First Nations children
- Enthusiasm for regional practice and the lifestyle benefits it offers
