Job Summary
Consultant for OpenShift at Red Hat Consulting focused on delivering enterprise-grade, scalable technology solutions. You will support customers in building infrastructure using Red Hat technologies, travel 20-30 weeks/year across North America, mentor teams, and contribute to project timelines and technical documentation. The role requires hands-on Linux/RHEL experience, Kubernetes on major cloud platforms (GKE/EKS/AKS), virtualization and cloud tech, scripting and automation, and strong collaboration with diverse stakeholders. You will engage with customers in industries such as financial services, retail, telecommunications, and more, and participate in a structured development path through initial enablement, project delivery, and technical leadership milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Experience delivering an implementation as part of a project team based on an architectural design
- Ability to contribute to a technical project, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation
- Ability to understand stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work
- Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems (RHEL preferred) and configuration as code
- Experience with Kubernetes on GKE, EKS, or AKS; virtualization and cloud technologies (OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud)
- Scripting skills (YAML, Python, etc.) and automation mindset
- Understanding of container management/orchestration and cloud technologies
