Job Summary
Consultant role focusing on Livestock Technology & One Health (LTOH) and Goat Enterprise Development under JSPVAT Phase-2.0. Responsibilities include implementing goat enterprise and value-chain strategies, promoting improved production practices (selective breeding, climate-reliant housing, health care and disease prevention), strengthening governance and enterprise growth in FPCs/GPCs/PGs, facilitating market linkages with traders and processors, supporting aggregation and marketing systems, delivering field-level demonstrations for goat meat enterprises, and coordinating with JEEViKA teams to improve access to services, finance, and training. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in veterinary science & animal husbandry, Livestock Production & Management, Rural Management or related fields, 3–5 years of relevant experience in goat value chains and FPO/FPC strengthening, strong facilitation and training skills, proficiency with MS Office and digital data tools, fluency in Hindi and Bihar local languages, willingness to travel, and the ability to manage confidential information. The role emphasizes women’s participation and leadership in goat enterprises and involves collaboration with government/development programs to strengthen producer groups and market integration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/master’s in veterinary science & animal husbandry, Livestock Production & Management, Rural Management, or related fields
- 3–5 years experience in livestock development specifically goat value chains, FPO/FPC strengthening, agribusiness, or rural livelihoods
- Preferred: experience in livestock extension, goat enterprise development, market linkages, and government/development projects
- Essential competencies: knowledge of goat production systems, animal health, nutrition, breeding; understanding of enterprise development, aggregation, and market-led value chains; facilitation, training, mentoring, capacity building; MS Office and digital data tools; fluent in Hindi and local languages of Bihar; willingness to travel extensively; ability to handle sensitive information; professional communication skills

- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and email software (Microsoft preferred)
