Job Summary
Consultant – Livestock Technology & One Health (LTOH) for goat enterprise development. Serve as a technical and enterprise resource to strengthen goat-based Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), Goat Producer Companies (GPCs), and producer groups, supporting JSPVAT Phase 2.0 initiatives to improve productivity, market linkages, services access, and women’s leadership in goat enterprises. Responsibilities include implementing goat enterprise strategies, promoting improved production practices, coordinating governance and capacity building, facilitating market integration and aggregation, developing fodder/service enterprises, coordinating with veterinary and financial service providers, and maintaining monitoring and reporting systems. Required: 3–5 years of experience in livestock development/goat value chains; education in veterinary science, animal husbandry, rural management, or related fields; strong skills in facilitation, training, data tools, and Hindi/local languages; willingness to travel extensively. Location: Patna, Bihar, India (or district as required). Travel-ready with ability to work with stakeholders across FPOs/GPCs and government/development programs. Fluency in Hindi and local languages preferred; MS Office/digital data tools proficiency. The role focuses on production, value-chain strengthening, market access, and governance enhancements for women-led enterprises within JSPVAT initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in veterinary science and animal husbandry, livestock production & management, rural management, or related field
- 3–5 years experience in livestock development, goat value chains, FPO/FPC strengthening, agribusiness, or rural livelihoods
