Job Summary

Coordinate research, analysis, and implementation of new investment accounting policies and procedures. Lead development of recommendations to enhance job performance and workflow, while advising senior management on industry practices for complex transactions. Develop and submit complex financial transactions to ensure proper reporting, and coordinate actions to address unfavorable financial situations. Provide consultation on supplemental reporting requirements and act as project lead for system development and design. Guide preparation of complex pro forma financial data for regulatory compliance and coordinate information for internal and external auditors.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate studies in accounting, finance or business administration
  • Seven years of investment accounting experience
  • Experience preferably in the insurance or financial service industries
  • Experience within a specific product/business area
  • GAAP knowledge
  • Knowledge of functional business area regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of industry practices in complex financial statement preparation
  • Knowledge of consolidation of companies/subsidiaries
  • Principles of taxation
  • Knowledge of the related impact on financial statement preparation
  • Knowledge of investment accounting
  • Knowledge of business computer systems
  • Knowledge of company organizational structure
  • Knowledge of company products and services
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, discover and solve investment accounting problems
  • Ability to interpret financial documents and data
  • Ability to analyze and interpret legal requirements
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to interpret changes in financial reporting and legal requirements
  • Ability to formulate company or business area policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply investment accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices
  • Ability to apply principles to specialized, unique and/or nonrecurring complex problems
  • Ability to effectively operate a personal computer
  • Ability to use advanced techniques with related software
  • Valid credit and/or background check
