Consultant, Geologist / Scientist / Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct fieldwork including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling; aquifer testing; drilling oversight and soil logging. Oversee soil borings, monitoring well installation, development, purging, and sampling. Coordinate drilling, surveying, and laboratory subcontractors. Provide construction oversight for remediation projects and support operation and maintenance of remediation systems. Perform data interpretation and prepare site work plans, technical memoranda, figures, spreadsheets, and reports. Support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for property transactions. Assist with regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local levels. Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, regulators, clients, and stakeholders during field activities. Support team-based project delivery while reporting primarily to Project Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, or a related natural science (minimum 3.0 GPA), or 8+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree
- 2+ years of relevant environmental consulting or related experience, including a strong interest in field-based work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience documenting and reporting technical data
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established Health & Safety protocols
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
- Flexibility to manage multiple assignments while meeting quality, budget, and schedule expectations
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Professional or in‐progress registration (PG, PE, GIT, or EIT)
- State and/or federal environmental regulatory knowledge or experience
- 40‐hour HAZWOPER training
- Experience with vegetation GPS mapping and/or wetland delineations
- Local candidates with familiarity in the Gulf Coast regulatory and environmental landscape
