Job Summary
Lead the technical development and delivery of sustainable Formula One fuel solutions across the full value chain, from research and formulation through trackside deployment and performance validation for the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. Provide advanced subject matter expertise in fuel chemistry to drive design, testing, and optimisation of sustainable F1 fuel formulations while ensuring alignment with FIA 2026 regulations and operational requirements. Coordinate the F1 fuels development workstream, manage external partnerships with Honda and Valvoline, and act as an informal group leader for the geographically distributed science team without direct line management responsibility. Ensure seamless integration between fuel development and trackside operations, delivering high-performance, regulation-compliant fuels to meet race schedules and support continuous innovation in sustainable fuel technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or equivalent level in Mechanical Engineering
- Master's Degree or equivalent level in Automotive Engineering
- Master's Degree or equivalent level in Chemical Engineering
- Master's Degree or equivalent level in Chemistry
- Master's Degree or equivalent level in a related field
- 15+ years of relevant experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level
- Subject matter expert level in fuels chemistry
- 4 to 6 years of experience providing advanced or strategic mentoring to senior professionals or specialists
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, continuously evolving, performance-driven environments
- Effective communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders from operational level to board level
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in fuel combustion and engine performance development
- Experienced in technical programme management
- Experience of working in the motorsport sector, preferably Formula One
