Job Summary
Conduct techno-economic feasibility studies and financial modeling for distributed and grid-connected Battery Energy Storage Systems across selected Indian states. Coordinate stakeholder consultations with DISCOMs, state energy departments, and policy institutions to map the energy storage landscape and co-develop actionable recommendations. Prepare regulatory assessments, policy briefs, and case studies synthesizing findings on deployment barriers and financing options. Support the design of pilot interventions and a stakeholder engagement framework for integrating storage into renewable energy programs. Deliver a comprehensive state-level prioritization framework and implementation pathways for DISCOMs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (or higher) in Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, Sustainability Studies, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in renewable energy, advance energy storage solutions, or power systems planning
- Experience working with government agencies, utilities (DISCOMs), or research institutions
Desired Qualifications
- Postgraduate diplomas or equivalent professional certifications in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designing
- Exposure to state and national energy policy frameworks, including MNRE, CEA, and CERC/ SERC guidelines
- Prior engagement with development partners, multilateral agencies, or think tanks on clean energy transition projects
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in research, data analysis and relevant data tools
- Familiarity with grid integration, distributed energy systems, storage technologies, and renewable variability management
- Understanding of financial and regulatory instruments for battery storage, such as VGF, tariff mechanisms, and carbon credits
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-driven and solution-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple assignments independently
