Job Summary
Data Engineer consultant role focused on building and deploying data-centric solutions for client projects and internal Sia AI initiatives. Responsibilities include architecting cloud-based data pipelines across GCP/AWS/Azure, containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes, Python-based server-side tools and REST API development, CI/CD pipeline management, ETL development in Big Data environments, and infrastructure supporting ML workloads. Requires a Master’s degree with quantitative emphasis and 1-3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud, or Software Engineering, strong Python skills, knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) and ideally NoSQL (MongoDB), familiarity with cloud services, Docker, CI/CD, and a willingness to grow in Kubernetes. Strong security awareness, data/AI interest, and excellent communication in English, Dutch, and French. The role is based in Brussels with a hybrid remote arrangement and emphasizes a collaborative, growth-oriented, Great Place to Work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with a strong quantitative component (e.g. Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering
- Strong Python skills and foundation in other languages
- Familiarity with at least one SQL DBMS (ideally PostgreSQL) and ideally noSQL (ideally MongoDB)
- Familiarity with cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) or strong appetite to learn
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines; interest in Kubernetes
- Mastery of Gitlab-CE ecosystem a plus; familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Experience with application security (certificate management, HTTPS, OAuth2)
- Strong interest in data and AI topics; ability to quickly build expertise
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Excellent English, Dutch & French verbal and written skills
