Job Summary
AI Engineer to join Sia's AI & Data team to harness Generative AI capabilities and deliver GenAI-powered solutions. You will serve as a pivotal link between data scientists, ML and platform engineers to implement cutting-edge algorithms, build bespoke GenAI applications, and optimize prompts and workflows. Responsibilities include building LLM-powered applications using LangChain and related GenAI frameworks, implementing RAG pipelines with vector databases for grounded responses, developing multimodal AI solutions and autonomous agents, driving MLOps excellence (CI/CD, drift detection, canary releases, retraining schedules), designing reusable prompt templates (CoT, ReAct, Graph-of-Thought), deploying GenAI models on AWS/GCP/Azure, ensuring performance observability, security guardrails, and compliance (GDPR, Responsible AI), integrating GenAI into microservices/APIs, benchmarking models for cost-performance, evaluating fine-tuning strategies where applicable, and supporting PoCs and enterprise-scale rollouts. The role requires a Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS/AI or related field and 2+ years of NLP/ML/AI experience with hands-on GenAI, plus strong Python skills and experience with cloud AI services, vector databases, and proficient English and Cantonese communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, AI, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in NLP/ML/AI with at least 1 year hands-on in GenAI
- Strong coding skills in Python with frameworks like PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, and LlamaIndex
- Proven experience with cloud-based AI services (AWS/GCP/Azure) and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face)
- Experience with vector databases: Qdrant, pgvector, Pinecone, FAISS, Milvus, or Weaviate
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, transformer architectures, and embedding techniques
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Problem-solving aptitude and strong business acumen
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- Fluency in English and Cantonese; additional Asian languages advantageous
