Job Summary
The Consultant in the Alternative Funding Division supports alternatively funded employer medical plan business by collaborating with regional producer teams on self-funding initiatives. Responsibilities include assessing employer groups' suitability for self-funding, assisting in developing RFPs for stop-loss and PBM arrangements, and providing consultative guidance to optimize plan performance. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The role emphasizes collaboration, vendor coordination, and market intelligence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field—or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry, preferably with exposure to alternative-funding and self-insured medical plans
- Strong understanding of self-funding principles, including stop-loss, PBMs, TPAs, and cost-containment strategies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with sales and client service teams
