Job Summary
Consultation Coordinator to guide prospective patients through the intake and treatment-readiness process in a fast-paced mental health care setting. Responsibilities include explaining treatment options, insurance coverage, and financial expectations; conducting empathetic, attentive patient interviews; removing barriers and driving appointment-conversion; scheduling, and maintaining records in CRM/EHR systems; and collaborating with clinical and operations teams to ensure a seamless patient journey. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications, such as Medical Assistant), 3+ years in mental health/healthcare/patient care, and experience with insurance verification and EHR systems (AdvancedMD, Salesforce preferred). Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and a customer-focused approach are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Psychology, or related field preferred
- (Equivalent experience or certifications such as Medical Assistant may be considered)
- 3+ years of experience in a mental health, healthcare, or patient care setting preferred
- Experience working with insurance verification, benefits education, or financial counseling is a plus
- Familiarity with EHR systems (AdvancedMD, Salesforce preferred)
- Knowledge of insurance payers and medical necessity guidelines is highly desirable
