Job Summary
Under the guidance of your crew foreman, learn and apply Morton Buildings' safety procedures, read construction plans, and utilize tools to safely construct buildings. Efficiently execute tasks including digging footings, framing walls and roofs, installing windows and siding, and finishing with trims. Work with crew personnel in a safe, organized environment while maintaining and operating specialized safety equipment. This physically demanding role requires lifting up to 100 pounds, working at heights up to 40 feet, and 20% travel including overnight trips. Available 9–10 hours during peak season, you will participate in a training program and comply with all safety processes.
Required Qualifications
- Available to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season
- Standard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
- Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights (up to 40 feet)
- This position requires 20% travel, which includes overnight travel possibly up to two weeks at a time
- Agree to comply with all our safety processes and procedures
- All candidates offered employment will be subject to a pre-placement test which does include a drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Building construction (post-frame), carpentry or framing experience preferred (on the job or in school)
- Willingness to participate in and complete a training program
- A valid driver's license is preferred
- Ability to take direction
- Produce quality work in an efficient manner
- Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and proper manner
- Ability to operate specialized safety equipment efficiently and effectively
