Job Summary
Under your crew foreman, learn and apply Morton Buildings' safety procedures while reading construction plans and building structures. Utilize tools to efficiently execute tasks including digging footings, framing walls and roofs, installing windows and siding, and finishing with trims. Collaborate with crew members in a safe, organized environment while maintaining and operating specialized safety equipment. This physically demanding role requires lifting up to 100 pounds, working at heights up to 40 feet, and taking direction. Available for 9-10 hours during peak season with 50% travel including overnight trips. Earn up to $25/hour plus quarterly and retention bonuses, ESOP, and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Available to work 9-10 hours during peak construction season
- Standard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
- Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights (up to 40 feet)
- This position requires 50% travel, which includes overnight travel possibly up to two weeks at a time
- Agree to comply with all our safety processes and procedures
- All candidates offered employment will be subject to a pre-placement test which does include a drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Building construction (post-frame), carpentry or framing experience preferred (on the job or in school)
- A valid driver's license is preferred
- Ability to take direction
- Produce quality work in an efficient manner
- Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools in a safe and proper manner
- Ability to operate specialized safety equipment efficiently and effectively
- Possess good communication skills - both written and verbal
