Job Summary
Senior Construction Underwriter for Kinetic by Quotewell’s programs division. Own end-to-end underwriting of construction-related risks (project excess liability, wrap-ups, contractor business) with deep E&S coverage expertise, leveraging technology-enabled workflows and AI-assisted underwriting. Build and manage relationships with wholesale brokers and agent partners to drive profitable business, collaborate with Engineering/Product/Operations to enhance the program platform, and scale underwriting practices from the ground up. Demonstrate strong technical coverage knowledge (exclusions, limitations, endorsements, pricing), provide fast turnaround on quotes, and maintain high-quality, efficient processes in a high-volume environment. Must be an independent operator with strong judgment, capable of working remotely in the US, and willing to travel; licensing in home state general and surplus lines preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years underwriting experience in E&S
- strong construction risk underwriting experience
- license: active home state general and surplus lines preferably
- ability to manage end-to-end underwriting process
- fast-paced execution and high-volume servicing capabilities
- clear communication with agents, carriers, and teammates
- ability to travel with a valid driver’s license
