Construction Truck Driver

Job Summary
Drive dump trucks and other construction vehicles to transport materials and equipment for road maintenance, repair, resurfacing, and dam, tunneling, and pipeline projects. Operate safely on both paved roads and off-road construction sites while inspecting loads for safety and performing daily truck inspections. Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service hours, report vehicle defects or accidents, and notify supervisors of needed repairs. Work long, irregular hours totaling 50 to 70 weeks per week in extreme weather conditions while adhering to DOT regulations and state and federal standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform this role in a safe, productive and effective manner
- Must have a satisfactory driving record
- Familiarity with DOT regulations
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl
- Ability to correctly rig and hoist material
- Ability to tolerate heights without fear
- Ability to maintain balance
- Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3 feet or more off the ground
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)
- Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
