Job Summary
The Construction Total Station Technician operates, maintains, and troubleshoots total station surveying equipment for accurate layout, measurement, and alignment on construction sites. Responsibilities include performing site layouts, interpreting construction drawings, recording field data, calibrating instruments, collaborating with project teams, assisting with as-built documentation, troubleshooting equipment, and adhering to safety protocols. Candidates should possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in surveying, civil engineering, or construction technology preferred.
- 2+ years of experience operating total station surveying equipment in a construction environment (preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, grading plans, and staking requirements.
- Proficiency with surveying software and data collection tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift surveying equipment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with GPS survey systems and CAD software.
- Knowledge of civil construction practices and site work.
