Job Summary
Construction Technician is responsible for performing construction tasks at CONUS and OCONUS locations, as well as pre-construction tasks at CONUS locations. Duties include carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, finishing, testing and other tasks related to the installation of secure office spaces, shielded enclosures, SCIFs and other specialized facilities. Requires following safety rules, collaborating in a team, reading construction documents (blueprints, shop drawings, schematics), and traveling up to 75% with typical hours 40+ per week. Travel to construction sites, including austere and hostile areas, is required; strong emphasis on safety, communication, and problem-solving; must be able to obtain security clearance and pass background/drug tests.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a classified environment required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Must be able to pass federal contract OCONUS deployment requirements published by the US Government from time to time.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
