Job Summary
Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction covering construction equipment operation, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair for excavators, dozers, skid steers, and wheel loaders. Demonstrate proper service procedures, diagnostic techniques, and safety practices while evaluating trainee performance and providing constructive feedback. Assist in developing training programs, preparing technical materials, and creating hands-on exercises aligned with manufacturer guidelines. Promote safe work practices, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain accurate training documentation. Collaborate with the Training Manager to coordinate schedules and resources, support internal teams and customers with specialized sessions, and stay current on evolving equipment technology.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of field experience working on construction equipment
- Strong working knowledge of construction equipment systems, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair
- Hands-on experience with equipment such as excavators, dozers, skid steers, wheel loaders, or similar heavy construction equipment
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and equipment maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and communicate technical concepts effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with varying levels of technical experience
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Employment eligibility will be verified at the time of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with engine overhaul and aftertreatment systems
- Experience working on transmissions and powertrain systems
- Experience with Develon, Liebherr, and/or Takeuchi equipment
- Prior instructional, training, or mentoring experience
- Experience developing technical training materials or hands-on training programs
- Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and manufacturer-specific service software
- Strong technical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues
- Ability to engage learners with varying experience levels
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Organized, professional, and detail-oriented
- Ability to demonstrate technical concepts in both classroom and hands-on environments
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
