Job Summary
Maintain existing and construct new plant by digging underground cables with hand tools or trenching machines, pulling fiber-optic cable through conduit, and relocating new conduit and fiber. Repair damaged underground plant and assist in fiber cable damage restoration efforts, while removing and replacing hand holes and fiber markers. Accurately locate and mark existing underground fiber cables based on Sunshine One-Call tickets to protect plant as needed. Install, repair, and maintenance of inside fiber optic cables and MDU boxes, ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards and state and local regulations. This role requires availability for a 24/7 operation with mandatory overtime after hours, weekends, and during outages. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly, and climb ladders up to 28 ft. Local candidates only in the Savannah, GA area.

- Ability to construct small networks for MDU, and public spaces using off the shelf solutions to meet demand
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically while delivering results in a high-change, fast-paced work environment
- Ability to collaborate and partner with various teams across the organization to drive initiatives and results
- Proven ability to deliver expected performance results and ability to drive to the next level
- Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, written, communication and presentation skills
- Must be available and willing to respond to the needs of a 24/7 operation
- Must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime after hours and weekends and remain in service during outages until resolved
- Work independently using sound judgement on all projects
- Full accountability in safety, productivity, quality, workmanship, and customer service
- Ability to effectively solve problems with little or no direction
- Computer skills sufficient to learn new applications and systems
- Use excellent hearing and listening skills to receive detailed information
- Ability to drive during nighttime and adverse weather conditions
- Must have valid driver's license with a clear MVR
- Must be able to pass standard background check and drug screening
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able and willing to climb ladders up to 28 ft
- Must be able and willing to work in adverse weather conditions
- Maintain vehicle in a clean and professional manner
- Dress in approved IQ Fiber clothing and arrive at work in a neat and professional manner
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to work outside in all elements of weather
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any U.S. employer on a full-time basis
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year telecommunications construction experience preferred
