Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic network infrastructure by digging trenches, pulling cable through conduit, and relocating vaults and hand holes. Accurately locate and mark existing underground cables based on Sunshine One-Call tickets to protect infrastructure during excavation. Remove damaged plant, restore fiber cable damage, and troubleshoot network systems to minimize service disruption. Ensure full compliance with OSHA safety standards while maintaining a professional demeanor and clean work areas in residential and commercial settings. Maintain assigned vehicle in a clean, professional manner. This role requires physical stamina to lift 75 pounds repeatedly, climb ladders up to 28 feet, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. You must be available for a 24/7 operation including mandatory overtime, after-hours, and weekend work to remain in service during outages.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of 1 year of telecommunications construction experience
- Familiarity with fiber optic cable installation, conduit work, and underground plant maintenance
- ability to construct small networks for MDU and public spaces using off-the-shelf solutions
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clear MVR
- auto insurance

- ability to drive during nighttime and in adverse weather conditions
- Must pass a standard background check
