Job Summary
Construction Technician 1 responsible for field labor to maintain stormwater infrastructure, including safe operation of hand and power tools, vegetation management, erosion and sediment control, loading/unloading materials, and documenting field observations. Must follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations, participate in training to develop construction and technical skills, work outdoors in varying weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and hold a valid driver’s license; team environment with opportunities for growth across a 2,000+ employee national firm with 70+ locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to two years of construction, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related field experience preferred
- Experience safely operating string trimmers (weed eaters) is required
- Experience operating skid steers is a plus
- Experience with stormwater infrastructure maintenance, erosion control, drainage systems, or related construction activities is preferred
- Knowledge of sediment and erosion control practices is preferred
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Strong commitment to safety and OSHA-compliant work practices
- Willingness to learn new skills, accept direction, and work as part of a team
