Job Summary
Perform concrete layout, staking, and formwork verification, plus general project layout and QC compliance checks across large commercial projects. Calculate points and load Trimble stations; set control using AutoCAD; coordinate embed, hold-down, and penetration layout. Support estimating with quantity take-offs, constructability reviews, and scope coordination. Coordinate Concrete Lift Drawings and formwork design planning with key trades. Perform routine field inspections during construction to support the QA/QC program. Utilize robotic total stations, optical/digital levels, GPS equipment, and data collectors. Document and address quality issues promptly, and communicate across the project team. Train and mentor Shaw team members and concrete/framing crew as needed. Collaborate with Shaw's BIM and Framing Panel Design departments as needed. Full-time, $80,000–$110,000/year. Associate degree in surveying required; Bachelor's preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in surveying
- 5+ years of surveying experience
- Solid working knowledge of concrete systems, formwork, and shoring
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- OSHA 10
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's in land surveying or civil engineering
- Civil 3D or MicroStation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or BIM360
- State Licensure (FS/PS)
- GPS experience
- OSHA 30
